You can record debits, credits, and check your ledger balance through text messaging.

Texting entries into your Mobile Ledger checkbook.

1. You need to add your mobile phones SMS address to your account. To find your SMS address send a text message to your own email address. The address should begin with your phone number.

2. Log in to your Mobile Ledger account and go to the Account Admin page.

3. Go to the Text Setup section of the page and enter the email address for your phone.

4. Send text messages to: debit@mobileledger.net or credit@mobileledger.net in the message area put the amount followed by description. Separate the amount from the description with a comma. For debit send to debit@mobileledger.net , and to credit amounts to your ledger sent a text to credit@mobileledger.net

Examples: To: debit@mobileledger.net Message: 11.25,lunch
To: credit@mobileledger.net Message: 45.00,cash

Depending on your phones network the time it takes to post texts to your ledger may very. Most post will occur with in minutes.

Checking your ledger balance.

After completing steps 1. through 3. above you will be able to receive your balance by text messaging the word: balance to debit@mobileledger.net or credit@mobileledger.net

or in your account admin page you can select to automatically receive your ledger balance after each time you text a debit or credit to Mobile Ledger.

In order to text information into your ledger you mobile phone must be able to send text to email addresses. Some older phones may not be able to send text to an email address. For those phones you need to log onto the site from your phones browser.
